I guarantee every one of us at one time has had to clean off a DVD or CD. The disc was on the counter and over time has collected a little dust. What do we do? We put our finger under our shirt and wipe it down. We usually do this in a circular motion (or at least everyone I know does it that way). This is wrong.
The disc should be wiped down from the center (where the whole is cut out) to the outside. NOT in a circular motion.
Wiping around the disc will cause the dirt to become ingrained in the grooves of the disc.
So from now on when you want to clean off a little dust on your CD or DVD, you may want to consider doing it in a way that may help the media disc last a bit longer.
