The Easy Way To Transfer Big Files

Some files are just too big to send in an email. If you don't want to get out the FTP software or torrent programs, WeTransfer is probably what you want to use.

All you do is visit the link above, choose your file(s), and record the email address(es) you would like to send the file to.

You even have a corresponding text box for your own email address. This allows you to be notified when the receivers of your file(s) download them.

2 GB is the limit with WeTransfer; it is much more than the limit on most email clients.

See BSOD Errors After They Occur

BSOD (Blue Screen Of Death) errors can be kind of hard to view as they occur. Some will come and past in a matter of seconds. To view these screens you can download a little program called BlueScreenView. This will allow you to see the actual screen that showed, if possible, and view the error code. This can help tremendously when you are having issues that cause the BSOD.

5 Top Internet Browsers

What are the 5 most popular browsers?

Well, if you have a PC with Windows installed, you are required to have Internet Explorer downloaded (because it is pre-loaded). So with Microsoft's browser included, the other 4 are:

So... which is the best?

You will find reasons all over the place for each of the above being the 'best' browser. I see it as a trial and error experiment. Try each of these. They each have their own flaws and advantages.

(I use Firefox and Chrome - both for different reasons)

It is up to you, ultimately. You will be the one using it. :)

Am I Cleaning My CD Wrong?

I guarantee every one of us at one time has had to clean off a DVD or CD. The disc was on the counter and over time has collected a little dust. What do we do? We put our finger under our shirt and wipe it down. We usually do this in a circular motion (or at least everyone I know does it that way). This is wrong.

The disc should be wiped down from the center (where the whole is cut out) to the outside. NOT in a circular motion.

Wiping around the disc will cause the dirt to become ingrained in the grooves of the disc.

So from now on when you want to clean off a little dust on your CD or DVD, you may want to consider doing it in a way that may help the media disc last a bit longer.

Saving "Unsavable" Pictures From A Site

Some websites have protection that prevents viewers from copying their pictures. If you try and right-click, you either get an error message or it doesn't work at all. To bypass this restriction, just use a simple key on your keyboard...

First just find the key on your keyboard labeled Print Screen. (PrtScn)

Make sure you are on the website's page with the picture you want.

Now press the Print Screen button. This just copied the page on the screen to your clipboard.

Go to the "Paint" program on your computer and then Edit>Paste.

The picture should now be displayed in the paint program.

Just trim around the picture with the "Select" Tool and then save the image to your computer.

Save Flash Games To Flash/Thumb Drive

If you want to play games at school, but your IT blocked those fun sites, here is a simple way to get around it. At home, navigate to a website that has flash games. Addicting Games is one, so we will use this for an example.

1. Open the site.

2. Click on the game you want to be able to play at school.

3. While or when the game is loaded, go to View>Page Source.

4. Ctrl+F for "Find", and type in:

.swf

5. Find the spot in the text that says something like:

displayFlash('/D78AQSAKQLQWI9/5687.swf', 600, 620);

6. From the above example, I would copy:

D78AQSAKQLQWI9/5687.swf

7. Now go to a new page in Firefox and type in:

http://www.addictinggames.com/D78AQSAKQLQWI9/5687.swf

(Thats just: the site/copied letters & numbers/more numbers.swf )

8. Now make sure your game is the only thing that is being viewed in the page.

9. Now go to File>Save As.

10. Save you game on to your flash/thumb drive.

Now since the game is being pulled off of your drive and not the internet, the computer guy at school, work, (or wherever) would have to disable the use of external drives (your drive) for your game to be unusable. This is so much better then trying to find sites that aren't blocked.

Or of course you could visit proxies to play these games. ;)

Access Blocked Sites

Some sites at school or work are blocked. These sites may or may not be legitimately bad, but regardless of what you think, some are just blocked. There is an easy way to bypass this though. What you can do is view the blocked site through another site that is not blocked. For example, lets say Facebook is blocked.

What you can do is:

1. Go to a site like meut.info which, lets say, is not blocked.

(It probably wouldn't be because its not a site that is 'bad'.)

2. You enter Facebook's URL in the space provided and it opens Facebook.com inside of meut.info. This is what a proxy does.

Here are some lists of other proxies:

Proxies.us

Proxies2

Web Proxy

There are tons of proxies available--just search for more if these do not fit your desires.

Free Link Exchange

Do you want your site advertised for free? Luckily, so do we. If you send us your site, we will add it to a "Links section" we will set up. In return, though, you have to visibly advertise our site on yours. The good thing is that it's free. There is no harm in this, so feel free to try and increase your site traffic. It does not matter what your site is about-we will still post it.
